ErP 2026

What does it mean
for your project?
ErP Regulation(EU) 2024/1834.
Find out which new requirements now apply, what you should consider at an early stage and how we can support you in planning with confidence.
The Regulation at a Glance
From 24 July 2026, new ecodesign requirements will apply to industrial fans. The assessment will no longer focus solely on the efficiency of individual components, but on the complete fan solution, including performance data, documentation and responsibilities. The requirements therefore affect not only fan manufacturers. Plant manufacturers, system integrators, equipment manufacturers, importers and operators should also assess at an early stage how their projects may be affected.

What Matters Now:
- Does the fan generally fall within the scope of the Regulation?
- Is a complete fan system or a component solution being supplied?
- Who is responsible for integration and completion?
- Are the required performance data and technical documents available?
- Is it a new installation, replacement, integration or retrofit solution?
An early assessment provides greater planning certainty and helps to avoid subsequent modifications, additional documentation requirements or delays.
We Will Be Happy to Advise You!
We support you with:
- New installation, replacement and retrofit projects
- Assessing your specific application
- Fan selection and system boundaries
- Scope of supply and responsibilities
- Technical performance data and documentation

Is Your Fan Affected?
Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 generally applies to fans that:
- have a drive motor supply voltage of no more than 1,000 V
- are placed on the market or put into service within the European Union
- have an electrical input power between 125 W and 500 kW
- achieve a total pressure increase Δpt2 of less than 1,013.25 daPa at the best efficiency point
- are used at an operating temperature between –40 °C and +100 °C
- are operated at a motor ambient temperature between –30 °C and +60 °C
Possible Exemptions
Under certain conditions, exemptions may apply to, among others:
- Fans designed and intended exclusively for use in potentially explosive atmospheres
- Specified applications with a solids loading of more than 10 mg/m³, provided that the prescribed requirements regarding blade angles and particle characteristics are also met
Please note: The specific classification depends on the fan design, operating conditions and intended use.
